Afternoon Tea is a meal typically enjoyed between 3 pm and 5 pm. This tradition originated amongst the wealthy social classes in England in the 1840s due to dinner time, or supper, being eaten later in the evening. Traditionally, Afternoon Tea consists of delicate sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and of course, scones. Our Afternoon Tea incorporates the rich history of this meal, while adding our own contemporary and playful twist. We create a new Afternoon Tea every season and hope you have the opportunity to try them all!

Indulge with our seasonal Afternoon Tea; wrapped like a gift, this takeaway box contain a variety of sumptuous savory and sweet appetizers. Surprise ‘mommy-to-be’ with our Baby Shower Afternoon Tea at home and create lasting memories together. All Luxury at Home reservations must be made one day in advance and the Baby Shower Afternoon Tea two days in advance.

The iconic themed Afternoon Teas, with the ever-changing surprising seasonal arrangement, is renowned among lovers of these savory and sweet treats. Cocktail enthusiasts can enjoy creative cocktails, ranging from Waldorf Astoria classics to contemporary creations prepared by the Team of Vault Bar. This elegant lounge area with flowing drapery, hand blown glass and classic furniture gives a truly authentic experience. Through the intricately detailed columns of the Bel Etage, a Waldorf Armillary Sphere takes center stage in the room, in reference to the property’s links to sail, trade and time - also a proud icon of the history of the canal houses as homes to the wealthy and successful.
Dining at Spectrum is about using your senses, understanding your palate. The dishes are familiar yet intriguing, curious yet understandable, controversial yet comforting. The Kitchen Team of Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam is led by Two Michelin Star Chef, Sidney Schutte. He developed a gastronomic vision in which the distinctive philosophy, qualities and values of Waldorf Astoria merge with his years of international experience as a Chef at the highest level. The Restaurant Team is led Restaurant Manager Sascha Speckemeier. Sidney Schutte and Sascha Speckemeier excelled in the recent years at Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam and seven months after opening in 2014 the restaurant received two Michelin Stars. Spectrum is a clear reflection of the gastronomic and hospitality vision of the Chef and Restaurant Manager. The atmosphere in the stylish, modern restaurant contributes to an overwhelming total experience.
