The name "Brasserie 1893" is derived from French and refers to high quality dining in a relaxed environment. And 1893 stands for the year the first Waldorf Astoria opened in New York. By collaborating with premium farms to bring fresh ingredients to the table, drawing inspiration from seasonal, integrating Eastern and Western cultures to present a distinctive modern French cuisine. The striking of the restaurant is the open kitchen, where guests can get a close look at the show of the chef.

A 24-hour Room Service menu is also available at the Waldorf Astoria Beijing, with a variety of delicious dishes from the Brasserie menu.

Located on the first floor of the hotel, Patisserie Couture is more than just a tempting dessert and pastry shop. Its library setting - with welcoming plush sofa seats and luxurious surroundings - is the perfect oasis to escape from the hustle and bustle. Signature items at Patisserie Couture include the New York classic Red Velvet Cake and the unique Beijing Style Red Velvet Cake.

Peacock Alley is an upscale 66-seat lounge that orchestrates the perfect symphony of Waldorf Astoria's classic surroundings and fresh contemporary ambiance for quick meals, afternoon teas, informal business meetings and sweet breaks before the next round of shopping. Inspired by the grand social promenade that connected the original Waldorf and Astoria hotels in New York, Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria Beijing creates an environment where 'one can see and be seen'. The elaborate bar and secluded lounge immerses guests in a classic and convivial ambience.

A Toast to Legendary Drinks

Our bartenders specialize in the great New York classics, including a range of legendary drinks such as Martinis, Cosmopolitans, Manhattans and all variations created in the vibrant bar scene of New York in the early 20th century. Peacock Alley, as one of the primary bars for high society in 20th century New York, certainly set the stage for legendary drinks, which we can savor right here at Waldorf Astoria Beijing's Peacock Alley.

Peacock Alley boasts exquisite yet lesser known variations such as the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Martini, named after American President Roosevelt. He famously stirred up a martini at The White House after announcing the end of Prohibition in 1933. Many signature drinks were created during Prohibition (1920-1933) and were called 'camouflage drinks' with dashes of juice or soft drinks. These cocktails include the well-known Long Island Ice Tea and the lesser known Bronx (gin, vermouth and freshly squeezed orange juice) and Rob Roy (scotch, vermouth and angostura) cocktails. These last two were invented and first sipped at New York's Peacock Alley. The Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria Beijing is the one and only address in Beijing to serve these legendary drinks.

Afternoon Tea

The afternoon tea, served on custom-made imported crockery, focuses on Beijing (a sense of place) and is called Beijing Zen Light & Delight Afternoon Tea. Sip premium teas with an exquisite selection of home-made Battenberg Cake, Red Velvet Cake, green tea mousse and other savory delicacies. This afternoon delight blends healthy local ingredients with the practice of a traditional western High Tea. Peacock Alley's afternoon tea uses the best mix of imported produce and the much sought-after local ingredients. A traditional High Tea stand is used in addition to roll-on trolleys to provide ample choice to our guests.

Aperitivo

From late afternoon onwards, the eye-catching item available at Peacock Alley is the Aperitivo. The set for two features 4 magnificent and artwork-like bite sized amuse-bouches. Every order comes with two classic cocktails of your choice and is ideal as a pre-dinner arrangement for you to catch up with a colleague or friend after work.

The team at Zijin Mansion is led by Chinese Executive Chef James Wang. With an abundance of experience in fine dining cuisine, James and his team combine traditional Cantonese cooking with ingenuity. Inspired by Zijin Mansion's four seasons, mindfully selected ingredients are blended with local food culture to create a sensory dining experience. Zijin Mansion has been awarded One Michelin Star by the Michelin Guide Beijing for five consecutive years.Inspired by traditional Cantonese cooking techniques and concepts,Zijin Mansion selects seasonal ingredients and combines them with local dietary culture,presenting traditional and authentic exquisite Cantonese delicacies for diners.In the exquisite interpretation of signature dishes,traditional Hakka flavors are also skillfully integrated, crafting a culinary heritage with dedication.The restaurant has 5 private rooms, each of them can accommodate 8-24 people.Opening Hours: Lunch 11:30am – 2:30pm and Dinner: 5:30pm – 9:30pm
