Four Oaks in History
When the hotel opened over 50 years ago, Four Oaks was the flagship restaurant for the hotel. The Oak Tree is symbolic for the District but even more historic for our hotel.
Historians have documented that within the hotel grounds once stood the Treaty Oak. This ancient oak tree is said to be the place where George Washington negotiated and signed a peace treaty with the local Piscataway tribe and negotiated the land deal to establish the new federal city, Washington, DC.
