As a recognized global leader in sustainability, Hilton has reaffirmed its commitment to Travel with Purpose, our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy to drive responsible travel globally. At Hilton Singapore Orchard, we work to create positive social and environmental change across our operations, supply chain, and communities.

Our hotel is one of the first Hilton hotels to use wooden key cards that are reusable and environmentally friendly. This will help towards eliminating approximately 40,000 plastic key cards a year. We also have an in-house water filtration and glass bottling system on site, which will aid in eliminating single-use bottles.

Bulk bathroom amenities have been implemented to replace single-use bathroom amenities.

Conscious decisions have been made across the hotel’s food & beverage department, from sourcing, to wellness and waste management. Alongside new technologies and partnerships, the hotel’s commitment to sourcing the best local produce and certified products will further our mission to reduce our overall carbon footprint.

Our guest rooms feature technology which aims to provide maximum comfort while being energy efficient. In-room motion air-con and light sensor technology automatically activates when a guest enters their room. Our rooms also use LightStay, Hilton’s comprehensive global platform for all environmental and social reporting. LightStay enables hotels to measure and manage energy, water, and waste using variables such as occupancy and weather.

All paper products used throughout the hotel, including the food & beverage packaging, are FSC certified or recycled paper sourced from sustainably managed forests. Restaurants will use foam containers with biodegradable and plant-based compostable packaging. Digital technology has replaced a number of items, including communication materials for our in-service directory and newspapers. Sustainable stationary is also available for guests to use.

Hilton’s Meet with Purpose program is launched to help our clients create meaningful change in both the attendee experience and
within the communities by integrating social and environmental
considerations into meetings and events.

The programme offers meeting and event planners an option for
Carbon Neutral Meetings and provide attendees with opportunities
to gather sustainably and promote wellness through means such
as measuring and managing their environmental performance and
creating sustainable menus.
