The Fellows Garden
At the heart of The Fellows House is a peaceful and picturesque private outdoor space - The Fellows Garden. Much like the garden quads found in many of the city’s universities, the Garden is the kind of secluded open-air retreat that the Fellows of Cambridge have found tranquility in for centuries. Featuring sculptures dedicated to great astronomer William Hershel and planting inspired by his wife Mary, the garden is the ideal place to spend time with friends, a crossword, or a relaxing drink from The Folio Bar. Visitors to The Sage of Cambridge are also welcome to enjoy their uplifting coffees and delicious guilt-free treats in the peace and quiet of The Fellows Garden.

At The Folio Bar our expert mixologists are dedicated to creating the perfect tipple. Taking inspiration from the scientific pioneers and the past and present Fellows of The University of Cambridge, we play with the laws of chemistry and physics to craft ingenious gin creations and cocktails. We encourage our guests to experiment with their beverage choices and make wise decisions by discovering local brews and encountering our spirit-free innovations.

The Observatory
Nestled in the corner of The Fellows Garden is The Observatory - a part-indoor-part-outdoor snug for relaxing, mingling, or the time-honoured practice of observing. Featuring a large open fire and patio heating, it’s a cosy space filled with fresh air. The Observatory is the ideal space for private meetings, gatherings and regularly features inspiring events and activities. It’s also the perfect spot for watching the outside world with a state-of-the-art 55-inch LCD display and cinema sound for screening films, sport and live events.

We encourage our guests and neighbours to make wiser inspiring lifestyle choices in a relaxed environment, perfect for working or catching up with friends. From freshly made paninis to tasty salads and indulging cakes and snacks, our Pastry Chef is dedicated to producing mouth-watering vegan, egg-free, gluten-free and sugar-free sweet treats that will leave our guests pleasantly surprised and guilt-free. The Sage of Cambridge transforms into a vibrant wine and aperitifs bar after 5PM: a selection of natural and organic wines from the old and new world, modern aperitifs with respect to seasonality, accompanied by joyful selection of sharing boards. The Sage of Cambridge becomes the perfect place for after-work drinks for guests and neighbours and celebrates local talent through its array of events and workshops.
