The interiors of ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts pay homage to the historical artistic community founded by Hon’ami Koetsu in Takagamine. Inspired by the spirit of Koetsu’s village, traditional Kyoto-style interiors have been reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, creating tranquil spaces that seamlessly connect the indoors and outdoors.
Each area of the hotel draws inspiration from the materials and craftsmanship found in Koetsu’s artistic community: karakami traditional decorative paper in the guest rooms, lacquerware in the lobby, bamboo in the restaurant, and ceramic pieces in the spa. The reception area and Tea House feature lacquerware art panels handcrafted by skilled artisans, while the restaurant showcases traditional woven bamboo artworks.
