Golf at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah

The award-winning 18-hole championship golf course was designed by the Swiss architect Peter Harradine. Four interconnected open water lagoons merge seamlessly with the water of the Arabian Gulf. As many traditional courses do, the 3,578-yard front nine makes its way out and away from the Clubhouse, while the 3,747-yard back nine returns home around the lagoon to the Clubhouse. The result is a stunning Par 72 championship course with five varying tee options on each hole.

Originally planned to be built on the salt flats bordering the water edge, 5 million cubic meters of sand combined with expert shaping create gentle elevation changes as the terrain moves around the lagoons rising and falling from plus one to plus eight meters.

With the region’s limited daylight hours, Al Hamra Golf Club utilizes the latest zero-pollution floodlights to offer golfers the ability to play into the night. Using a combination of the front nine and back nine championship courses, a composite 9-hole course is created, providing the perfect option for the businessperson after work or the true golf enthusiast who just can’t get enough. Either way, golf under the stars should be a must-try experience for all. We also offer a newly renovated floodlit driving range, where anyone can enjoy hitting some practice balls.

Al Hamra Golf Club, an official venue of the DP World Tour, is designed by Swiss architect Peter Harradine. The Al Hamra layout incorporates design features from traditional links-style courses, meandering around four interconnected open-water lagoons that seamlessly merge with the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

The club hosted the inaugural Ras Al Khaimah Championship in 2022, presented by Phoenix Capital. The course received acclaim for its impeccable presentation, subsequently hosting the DP World Tour again in 2023 and 2024.

Between DP World Tour events, Al Hamra Golf Club also hosted The Hero MotoCorp Ras Al Khaimah Team Challenge, a one-day televised exhibition featuring top Tour stars competing in a nine-hole classic Scramble format. The club served as the venue for the European Challenge Tour from 2016 to 2018, initially hosting the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge and later hosting the Ras Al Khaimah Challenge Tour Grand Final in 2018.
