1958 was a big year for Tuscaloosa. Not only was it the first year that Paul “Bear” Bryant starting coaching at Alabama, it was also the year that John “Big Daddy” Bishop opened his first Dreamland Café. The legendary ribs, service and atmosphere are available and the menu has expanded to offer items such as pulled pork, bar-b-que chicken, hickory smoked sausage, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, house salads served with our own bar-b-que dipping sauce and a true Southern favorite for dessert, banana pudding.

Edelweiss German Coffee Shop & Bakery, located in the Temerson Square downtown Tuscaloosa, provides a relaxing atmosphere. Since 2007 they have been serving the area with authentic German bread, pretzels, rolls, pastries, cakes and other European specialties.  The menu features a great variety of breakfast and lunch along with a large selection of coffee drinks and sweets. There are also daily specials.
