First opened in 1941, the Drum Room lounge and club has drawn the likes of Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline, and Benny Goodman. Both Providence and the Walnut Room offer restored 1940s style alongside classic American cuisine.
Drum Room Lounge
In 1926, The President was the first hotel to be able to produce its own ice in Kansas City, and moving forward with this “in house” concept, we will be using essential, fresh, regional and homemade ingredients in almost every craft cocktail we produce. These simple precepts will take a bit of work, planning and skill, but will be instrumental in setting us apart in the Kansas City bar scene; in the Power and Light district, and as a destination hangout – not just the convenience of a hotel bar and restaurant. Please note that the kitchen is open until 9:00 pm.
Providence
Providence New American Kitchen is a full-service contemporary American restaurant featuring locally sourced ingredients. Beautifully crafted cuisine and cocktails with simple, fresh ingredients and attention to the comfort of Midwestern flavors are noted in the menu. The restaurant is accompanied by The Drum Room Lounge, a notable bar and cocktail lounge with an illustrious history in the Hilton President.

The Drum Room
Originally opened in 1940 the historic Drum Room restaurant is noted for its famous visitors throughout the years. The Drum Room was a regular stop for jazz legends and many other types of entertainers. The room is a historic site and a first class restaurant. The Drum Room offers lunch and dinner featuring hand cut chops and steaks prepared fresh daily in an upscale casual dining environment. Live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. Walnut Room
Beautifully restored to the 1940's with the orginal stained glass windows and rich wood columns. Offering breakfast daily. American cuisine with healthy choice menu. It is also the ideal setting for private business or social events.
