As a recognized global leader in sustainability, Hilton has reaffirmed its commitment to Travel with Purpose, our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy to drive responsible travel globally. At Hilton Singapore Orchard, we have taken mindful steps to work towards creating positive social and environmental change across our daily operations, supply chain and communities. From reducing single-use plastic, to supporting sustainable and local produce, we strive to improve the footprint we will leave behind.

Reduce single-use plastic & supporting sustainable packaging

With our Forest Stewardship Council- (FSC-) certified wooden key cards, we are able to eliminate approximately 40,000 plastic key cards a year. We are also the first hotel in Singapore to have an in-house water filtration and glass bottling system, keeping our guest rooms well stocked with refreshing glass bottled water and saving 1.2 million plastic bottles a year.

Our other initiatives include: using bulk bath amenities; digital alternatives for in-room physical communication materials; and FSC- or recycled paper products and packaging.

Reduce Energy Consumption

Our guest rooms feature automated in-room motion, air-conditioning and light sensors to provide maximum comfort while ensuring energy efficiency. Lights automatically switch off and room temperature adjusts whenever the guest leaves the room to conserve energy and electricity.

Embracing energy-efficient lighting solutions, LED lights illuminate the hotel’s public spaces and meeting rooms, contributing to a reduction in electricity usage.

Sustainable Dining

Conscious decisions are at the core of all our food and beverage options such as the use of Aquaculture Stewardship Council-(ASC) and Marine Stewardship Council-(MSC) certified sustainable seafood and locally sourced cage free eggs in our menus. We are also actively exploring vertical farming options.

Food waste is handled via an on-property digester and safely disposed after. We are also the first and largest Hilton property in Singapore to partner with Winnow, an artificial intelligence tool to help chefs accurately pinpoint food waste streams from kitchen production.

 

 

‘Meetings, Elevated’Sustainably driven MICE Program

With 16 versatile event spaces within the hotel, delivering events that are low on waste and high on impact is paramount to Hilton Singapore Orchard’s sustainability strategy. ‘Meetings, Elevated’ focuses on three key pillars: Gather, Nourish, and Impact, curating a holistic MICE program that elevates the attendees’ experience while driving meaningful change.

Meetings, Elevated: Exceptional Venues for Extraordinary Events The ‘Meetings, Elevated’ program is Hilton Singapore Orchard’s iteration of Hilton’s global Meet with Purpose program.

Gathering Sustainably: Carbon Neutral Meetings

LightStay is Hilton’s award winning environment, social, and governance management system to track, analyze and report environmental and social impact. We use LightStay’s Meeting Impact Calculator to derive a comprehensive report detailing each meeting’s total carbon footprint across energy, water, and waste consumption.

Event planners will also be able to review the data report before and after the event to ensure that the event aligns with the company’s sustainability goals. Through Hilton’s partnership with ClimeCo , we fund for carbon credits on behalf of the company to offset the carbon footprint.

Nourishing the Mind & Body: Climate conscious Menus

From our elevated coffee break menus to the ‘Art of Mindful Dining’ lunch buffet experience at Estate , our chefs engineer menus that feature the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients and superfoods. These climate conscious menus prioritizes freshness and quality to boost productivity, while minimizing environmental impact.

Enhancing the event experience, Hilton Singapore Orchard encourages companies to give back to the local community through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts or supporting local businesses through activations with our network of partners.

Kloth Circularity: Hands on Eco Creation Workshop crafting sustainably made items like upcycled coasters using the hotel’s pre loved textiles while supporting marginalized women in Singapore and Malaysia.

Gifel Tea: Embark on a sensory journey with the interactive ‘ Teatail Experience’ by a renowned local tea brand that champions sustainability while redefining modern tea culture with innovation.

Jojomama: Collaborate with differently abled artisans to create unique handmade customised gifts and plaques, fostering inclusivity and engagement.
