The Perfect Getaway: 3 days in Cape Cod with AutoCamp
Escape to the Cape for lighthouses and lobster rolls with a memorable stay at AutoCamp Cape Cod.
Robin Reetz | April 16, 2026
Experience a quintessential New England retreat at AutoCamp Cape Cod, where high-end Airstream living meets the rugged, salty charm of the Upper Cape. Whether you’re pedaling along the scenic Shining Sea Bikeway, uncovering maritime history in Woods Hole, or simply unwinding by a crackling fire pit under a canopy of stars, every moment is designed for discovery. From sun-drenched beach mornings to quiet forest trails and iconic seafood stops, this three-day itinerary offers the perfect balance of coastal adventure and the well-earned relaxation you’ve been craving for your next great escape.
Day 1
Morning
There’s nothing like a quiet morning on the Cape, where the salty air pairs perfectly with a fresh brew. Kickstart your seaside explorations with complimentary granola and coffee in the Clubhouse or grab a breakfast sandwich from The Kitchen. Don’t forget to stop at the on-site General Store to stock up on local snacks and essentials for your stay. Already on the road? You’ll love the selections (and the charming vibe) at West Falmouth Market, where you can grab sandwiches to go on your way to the beach.
Afternoon
You have a few options for your first relaxing day by the shore. Old Silver Beach, near the Falmouth Cliffs, is one of the most popular beaches in the area and true Cape Cod classic. Woodneck Beach, the closest to AutoCamp Cape Cod, is a nature lover’s dream where you’ll find a sand, rock, and pebble beach overlooking the bay on one side, and the Little Sippewissett Marsh on the other. No matter which you choose, now’s the time to break out those deli sandwiches, catch some sun, and dip your toes in the Atlantic.
Evening
After a reset back at your basecamp — where you can lounge (or nap!) in a hammock, play games on the lawn, or cuddle up with a book in your sleek Airstream suite — it’s then time for dinner. Make your way into Falmouth, where you’ll have plenty of choices, including Osteria La Civetta for homemade pastas and Italian wine, or Asti for modern Greek recipes and coal-fired pizzas. Back at AutoCamp, pick up a s’mores kit and gather around the communal fire pit. Live music adds to the glow, while you form new bonds over toasted marshmallows.
Day 2
Morning
Wake up with the sunrise — or whenever your internal vacation clock allows — and enjoy coffee in your Airstream before joining a morning yoga session led by a local instructor. Once you’re feeling centered and ready to explore, sip a refreshing organic green smoothie at the Clubhouse then hop on a complimentary bike (rentals are available from 9 am to 5 pm daily, and need to be returned by 8 pm) and hit the Shining Sea Bikeway. Head south to cruise past salt marshes, sand dunes, and postcard-worthy views. If you could use a second breakfast, Cape Cod Bagel is serving up morning bites just off the bike path.
Afternoon
Woods Hole is the next stop on your tour de Cape. Stay south on the bike path through the bustling harbor town where science meets gorgeous scenery. Check out the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Ocean Science Discovery Center to learn about the scientists and engineers who found and explored the Titanic’s historic wreckage. Pop into local shops, then refuel with lunch at the beloved Pie in the Sky café, featuring scratch-made baked goods and house-roasted coffee. Don’t leave without a detour at Nobska Lighthouse, one of the most photographed spots on the Cape.
Evening
It’s time to enjoy the golden hour bike ride back to AutoCamp Cape Cod — but don’t rush! Take your time to stop at Fay Beach or Falmouth Beach for a relaxing view of the sound along the way, or take a walk through the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuaries. Once you’re back at camp, wind down your way. Crank up your personal fire pit and toss on a grill kit for an easy dinner, or grab a bottle of wine and walk to Woodneck Beach for sunset drinks. After dark, settle by the campfire for more s’mores and stargazing.
Day 3
Morning
Ease into your last day with brunch in downtown Falmouth, or skip right to the action with a morning kayak paddle out of Mashpee on the Popponesset Bay. Feeling extra adventurous? Book a whale-watching tour with Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises to hopefully catch a glimpse of the gentle giants of the Atlantic. If you still haven’t had your fair share of seafood, stop in Bourne for an early lunch at Lobster Trap Restaurant & Fish Market, a true Cape Cod institution and go-to for lobster rolls, stuffed quahogs, and fresh-caught fish.
Afternoon
From here, it’s your call: Hike the shaded forest trails of Beebe Woods for some of the best views of Buzzards Bay, located just minutes from AutoCamp Cape Cod. Then head into downtown Falmouth to grab a cone at Ben & Bill’s Chocolate Emporium — three words for you: lobster ice cream. When on the Cape, right? For a perfect half-day trip, venture to Sandwich to walk the iconic boardwalk, explore the stunning Heritage Museum and Gardens, and grab a beer at the beloved Tree House Brewing Company overlooking the dunes.
Until next time!
If time allows, end your unforgettable trip to the Cape with a few more core memories before crossing the bridge. For a peaceful final pause, pick up a jar of preserves from the historic Green Briar Nature Center and Jam Kitchen, take a final stroll through the Sandwich Marina to watch massive ships glide through the canal, or simply park at the water's edge to watch the sun set over the Bourne Bridge. These lingering moments of coastal magic are what stay with you until you return.
